Lucknow: A grand farewell ceremony was organized at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Civil Hospital to honor Chief Pharmacist P.C. Kumar on the occasion of his retirement. The event witnessed the presence of hospital pharmacists, chief pharmacists, employees from various departments, as well as pharmacist representatives and trainee pharmacists from other districts.
Addressing the ceremony, former Deputy Director of Pharmacy, H.N. Chaudhary, emphasized the hospital staff’s unwavering commitment to public healthcare. He stated that the pharmacy sector serves as the backbone of the department, and P.C. Kumar’s exemplary 36 years of service should inspire the younger generation.
Pharmacy In-Charge Shiv Kushwaha reminisced about his time working with Kumar, describing him as a dedicated and dutiful officer. While hosting the event, Pharmacist Federation President Sunil Yadav highlighted Kumar’s expertise in pharmacology and his deep sensitivity towards healthcare.
The farewell event also featured addresses by former Pharmacy In-Charge Hardwari Lal Raj, V.K. Singh, DPA District Branch Lucknow President Arun Awasthi, Pharmacist Federation General Secretary Ashok Kumar, Chief Pharmacists Daya Shankar Pandey and Dinesh Singh, District Secretary G.C. Dubey, along with Sudhir Kumar, Rajneesh Pandey, Ajit, O.P. Patel, Mahendra Rawat, Anand Mishra, Anita Awasthi, Anjum, Pratima, Alka, S.M. Singh, Shravan Kumar Chaudhary, Qasim Ali, Vishal Rathore, former Chief Pharmacists M.P. Chaudhary, O.N. Pathak, and K.G. Pandey. Former Chief Pharmacist Ajay Mishra recited a poem in Kumar’s honor.
P.C. Kumar served as the in-charge of the Animal Bite Injection Department at Civil Hospital and provided long-term service at the Chief Minister’s residence in Lucknow. Known for his warm and dedicated nature, Kumar was widely respected by his colleagues.
In honor of Kumar’s contributions, Physiotherapist Vivek Tiwari, Ministerial Department representative Katiyar, Anil Kumar, Technical Department’s Dheeraj Javed, Class IV Employees’ Union President Mahendra Pandey, and Ravindra Yadav also shared their thoughts.
Kumar’s wife, son, and daughter were present at the event, making the occasion even more special. In a collective resolution, all pharmacists pledged to continue their dedicated service for the benefit of patients.
